We do not perform any scientific studies or physically review products recommended on our website unless otherwise stated on our page. We are an aggregator of information. We recommend products that have positive reviews on popular marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart, Target and eBay.

How We Conduct Research

Gathering

At ConsumerAdvise.org we first conduct initial research on a product category like vacuum cleaners. We look at as many brands on multiple website including Amazon, Walmart and Target to get a sense of the market.

Analyzing Data

We then start narrowing down our search to the most popular brands and products based on consumer reviews. If a product has a poor consumer rating it is eliminated from our process. We only consider recommending products with an above average consumer rating. For example we typicaly do not recommend products that have less than a 3 out of 5 stars.

Comparing Features

We then look at important features to the product category. To keep with the vacuum cleaner example, suction and ability to pick up all types of dirt and debris is important to customers based on our research when selecting a vacuum cleaner. We learn this through reading actual customer reviews.

Ratings

Based on all collected data we analyze the features and combine that with overall customer satisfaction and rank products on our website.
